抗癌有很多種療法,不管是西醫、中醫、或是口耳相傳等等的眾多療法,以客觀立場
上來看待抗癌,其實,還是建議以正規療法來協助病人,才是對病人有較大幫助。癌症是
全球性共通的疾病,並非只有台灣人才會得到。我們以冷靜的角度來看待抗癌,如果說以
個案來代表一切套在所有病人身上,似乎不太客觀。畢竟,這二十多年來在西醫的治療下
還是有很多人不幸過往,難道說光憑一個個案就能夠通用,那麼,癌症早已不是絕症。
在該個案的發表中,相信個案也一定有接受過西醫的協助,西醫的協助是在病人最危
急的時候給予病情適當控制,而不是根除。癌症不比感冒病毒侵入,而是自身的細胞與免
疫力拔河,【時間】是治療癌症最好的藥物,但是,該怎麼幫助病患爭取時間,個人覺得
應該是抗癌路上所應該積極探討的方向,而不是飽讀用藥、治療知識,那對於病人的病情
,根本沒有任何幫助。
良心建議您,抗癌路上有很多的治療方式,不過在選擇任何的方式時,千萬要理性判
斷,而不是光看看網頁文章,或是聽聞鄉野傳說,以免延誤病情。病人的心理建設當然是
互相鼓勵、支持,但也不是互相取暖,有理性的判斷能力,與醫師好好配合治療,病患本
身自己要懂得提升免疫系統的正常運作輔助治療,相信,一定能夠為病人多爭取時間,讓
病人的生活品質更好。

[研究主題] 免疫乳漿蛋白降低化/放療所引起的副作用之評估
[研究內容] 補充免疫乳漿蛋白後,偵測癌細胞和正常細胞內GSH變化,以評估化療所帶來
的副作用以及癌細胞的抗藥性是否有降低。
[研究結果] 在接受化/放療期間的癌症患者,在使用免疫乳漿蛋白後,能有效快速的降低
副作用,同時減少癌細胞對藥物的抗藥性,增加療程的效果,促進生活品質。

The use of a whey protein concentrate in the treatment of patients with

Glutathione (GSH) concentration is high in most tumour cells and this may be
an important factor in resistance to chemotherapy. Previous in-vitro and
animal experiments have shown a differential response of tumour versus normal
cells to various cysteine delivery systems. More specifically, an in-vitro
assay showed that at concentrations that induce GSH synthesis in normal human
cells, a specially prepared whey protein concentrate, Immunocal, caused GSH
depletion and inhibition of proliferation in human breast cancer cells. On
the basis of this information five patients with metastatic carcinoma of the
breast, one of the pancreas and one of the liver were fed 30 grams of this
whey protein concentrate daily for six months. In six patients the blood
lymphocyte GSH levels were substantially above normal at the outset,
reflecting high tumour GSH levels. Two patients (#1, #3) exhibited signs of
tumour regression, normalization of haemoglobin and peripheral lymphocyte
counts and a sustained drop of lymphocyte GSH levels towards normal. Two
patients (#2, #7) showed stabilisation of the tumour, increased haemoglobin
levels. In three patients (#4, #5, #6,) the disease progressed with a trend
toward higher lymphocyte GSH levels. These results indicate that whey protein
concentrate might deplete tumour cells of GSH and render them more vulnerable
to chemotherapy.
