London, May 12 (Prensa Latina) British writer J.K. Rowling Friday joined the
campaigns against the scrawny models whose images are imitated by adolescents
as undeniable paradigm of beauty.

Convinced of the power and fame that being the creator of a so popular
character provides to her, the British intellectual defended the figures
which are not at all affected by some kilograms.

Rowling is very much concerned on the influence of the publicity favoring
anorexic women. I think of my daughters, she stressed, and I am afraid of the
possibility they may become "brain-damaged and haggard clones" only caring
for their physical appearance.

Lately, demands in favor of slender women keeping their natural curves well
defined have increased and some clothing and make up companies even diffuse
products for women with slight overweight.

Doctors and nutritionists have issued calls of alert to a generation of girls
and adolescents sometimes forced to maintain inhuman diets preventing them
from indispensable nutritious components for an adequate development.
