談到精神疾病時,有些醫師認為從事晨跑、健身等運動有助於放鬆身心。
最近一項研究指出,其實運動帶來的「興奮效果」有限,頂多持續一、
兩個小時;若是有憂鬱症狀的患者,則做再多運動都沒有用。
這項研究發表於《英國醫學雜誌》。艾賽司特大學(University of Exeter)
研究團隊進行大規模實驗,檢視運動對振奮心情的功效。團隊找來361名18至
69歲的受試者,他們都被診斷出有憂鬱症狀;這群受試者被分成兩組,一組
只做運動活動調適,另一組則接受標準治療。
結果發現,整天從事運動的實驗組完全沒有好轉,心情始終相當沮喪。
研究人員表示,有些患者不想接受抗憂鬱藥物的治療,而被醫師建議可以
多做運動或戶外活動;這項實驗證明此方法在對抗憂鬱症上,是完全沒有效果的。
如果心情不好,仍然可以騎腳踏車、慢跑去上班,
不過別指望能因此一整天保持愉悅。當然,吃東西永遠都是對抗憂鬱的好方法,
只要選對食物,例如牛排,確實可以讓焦慮、抑鬱症狀出現的機率降低!
